Bamboo is technically a grass.  In terms of 'weeds' it can be seperated into two types, clumping (good ie easy to control) and running (bad ie difficult to control).
However, there are three species of bamboo which are actually native to Australia - all are found in northern Australia and one (Bambusa arnhemica) in the Top End.
