Fern Leaved Grevillea

Scientific Name: 

Grevillia pteridifolia.

Description: slender tree 5-8m high with open crown and silvery foliage. Bark rough, dark grey to black, furrowed.


Flowers: bright orange with prominent protruding style, 1.5-3cm long, numerous arranged on one side of dense racemes 10-20cm long, produced terminally or in upper leaf axils.


Fruit: hairy, somewhat ovoid, semi-woody follicels, 1.5-2cm x 0.9-1cm. persistent style at tip, grey-brown ripe, densely clustered, containing 2 brown seeds.


Flowering: mainly May - September.


Fruiting: July - October.
