Flowers: male flowers small, on spikes 0.5 - 1cm long in 3s at branchlet tips; female flowers small, solitary or in 2s or 3s on lower part of branchlet.
Fruit: nearly spherical thick-walled woody cones 1-1.8cm diameter, dark brown and splitting when ripe with winged seeds.
